Untitled
(The Fulfilment)
With this work, the long project of human civilisation reaches its natural conclusion.
All prior cultural endeavours — from cave painting to the Renaissance, from the Industrial Revolution to digital abstraction — find their distilled and final expression here. The horizontal strata encode the totality of lived time: oceans crossed, empires risen and fallen, weather systems endured, thoughts half-remembered. Against this vast accumulation stands the vertical axis: the last human gesture of will.
This is not paint so much as destiny briefly made visible. Although there is quite a bit of paint.
The composition resolves contradictions that have preoccupied philosophers, theologians, and failed artists for millennia: chaos and order, nature and intention, accident and meaning. Nothing further can be added without regression. Nothing removed without collapse. Do you ever feel like that?
The restrained palette is not modesty but authority. Colour has been disciplined into obedience. Texture records the end of struggle — erosion after ambition, silence after revelation.
Having achieved this summit, art can now rest. The future, if it exists at all, will merely footnote this moment.
The viewer is not asked to interpret the work. Interpretation has been rendered obsolete.
… It hasn’t really.
ANNOUNCEMENT
LET IT BE KNOWN
That on this day
the long labour of human expression
has reached its appointed end.
All marks made before this one
were preparation.
All marks made after
will be imitation, commentary, or noise.
Here, intention and accident
have been reconciled.
Here, effort has ceased to matter.
Here, meaning no longer requires explanation.
This work stands
not as an image
but as a conclusion.
Those who came seeking progress
will find none.
Those who came seeking novelty
will find silence.
Those who came seeking truth
have arrived too late
and exactly on time.
NO FURTHER STATEMENT IS REQUIRED.
I say that further statements are most assuredly required.
What’s going on here?
Rejoice why?

I'm giving this a 10/10 and it is in the top ten in the hit parade of 2025, huzzah.
